Innovents Function Band 7 - Sahara are a dynamic and highly versatile function band fronted by charismatic entertainer and vocalist, Debbie Boyd. Combining outstanding musical talent with the latest sound and light technology, Sahara never fails to exceed expectations, time and time again.

Sahara’s huge repertoire recreates the sounds of 60’s soul legends (Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye to name just three) right through to the modern pop icons of today including Anastacia, Shania Twain and Robbie Williams.
Sahara’s set also encompasses a large selection of music from the 70’s disco era with all time favourites including “Play That Funky Music”, “Car Wash” and “Disco Inferno” as well offering an excellent party mix of 80’s material including 'Walking On Sunshine', 'Wake Me Up Before You Go Go' and 'Summer of 69'.
Swing favourites such as 'Moondance', 'Fly Me To The Moon' and 'Can't Take My Eyes Off Of You' may also be included, if appropriate, as well as all time party classics by icons such as Chuck Berry and Elvis.
Specialist costumed theme nights can be easily accommodated with advance notification, otherwise a general party mix will be selected to suit a wide variety of ages, backgrounds and musical tastes.
Sahara can also provide optional extra dinner jazz sets, party sets, Scottish ceilidh dancing sets and a Jewish ‘hora’ medley. Please enquire for further information.
The band plays extensively throughout the UK and abroad for every type of venue and event from corporate functions to private weddings, anniversaries, birthday parties, bar/bat mitzvah, military functions, theatre and cabaret venues, holiday camps and cruise lines.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How far will the band travel? Sahara will travel all over the UK and worldwide.
How long do you play for? We usually perform two sets (one hour per set) and strongly recommend that these are not fragmented into shorter sets, if possible. Extra playing time (eg. dinner jazz sets or extra party and/or Scottish Ceilidh dancing sets or a Jewish ‘hora’ medley) can easily be accommodated upon request.
Will I need to book a disco as well as the band? The choice is yours! Sahara can be booked without a disco as we will happily leave a CD of pre-mixed party music playing during breaks.
Do you have insurance against accidents and damage at venues? Yes, Sahara musicians hold public liability insurance and all electrical equipment is fully PAT tested.
How do you dress? Sahara’s usual style of dress is glamorous evening dress for the female lead singer and smart black for the men. With advance notification, alternative outfits including formal black tie, or themed costumes (70s funk or 80s pop) can be worn.
What are the different line-ups for Sahara? Our recommended line-up for a full, exciting live sound is 7 members which includes drums, keyboards, bass guitar, lead guitar, sax, trumpet, female lead vocals and 4 male backing vocalists. We can also perform in line-ups of 5, 6 or 8 players to suit different space/budget requirements.
How loud do you play? We can play as loudly or quietly as you like, bearing in mind we are a party band and pretty lively! Sahara has played at many functions of differing size, and can tailor the volume to the size of the room and number of people.
How much do you charge? Pricing varies according to the size of line-up, distance of travel, set-up and finish times, the length of time you wish Sahara to play and any additional options you wish to book. A price guide is listed above. Sahara is committed to providing the very best in quality live entertainment from start to finish. You can depend on our professionalism, beware of cheap imitations!
Do you supply all your own equipment? Yes, Sahara has a state of the art 4000W PA and stage lighting system designed for audiences of up to 400 people. For larger events, we hire an extension for the sound and lighting system this is discussed with you beforehand and then arranged by Sahara. Please let us know in advance if there is any possible access problems (e.g. lack of parking, stairs, small entrances) as this may affect the price and setup times.
Do you have any specific requirements? We will require a changing room suitable for the number of people in the line up you have chosen and request a stage/setting up area of at least 20 x 10 feet (6 X 3 m), more if DJ option is also booked. Adequate power supplies are also needed; either a minimum of 3 mains sockets adjacent to the stage for indoor events or a generator capable of supplying 32 amps single phase at 240V for outdoor events, (further details available on request). We also ask that hot meals (including one vegetarian) be provided, along with soft drinks, tea/coffee for the whole time we are on site, in order for us to perform at their best.

CORPORATE EVENTS
Ferrari Owners Club Just a note to say how much we enjoyed the music of SAHARA who played at our Spring Ball at Whittlebury Hall last weekend - Their whole approach to the event was very professional and relaxed from setting up to taking down and they were a leasure to work with. Their choice of music fitted the event very well and they certainly got everyone to their feet and on the dance floor. Debbie was terrific and was adept at including people in with her mobility with the radio mic around the Ballroom. All in all they were a great success and a delight to work with.

COMMENTS FROM THE PRESS

There are many bands like them but they can certainly hold their own with fine harmonies, professional, slick presentation and, without doubt, an endless pool of material.' [The Stage, Oct 2004]
“Norwich-based Sahara only formed last September but they already have a reputation as one of the hottest groups on the scene.” [Norwich Evening News,]
