Exciting isn't it...

 

Darren came from an engineering background, but preferred the office environment and in particular sales and customer service, with progression of his early career taking him from companies including City Electrical Factors, ADP and Toshiba. 

​

Although he enjoyed his time and loved working for these companies, he was searching for opportunities to follow his passion of working within an industry that he really had a buzz for!

​

It was a visit to Plasa (a large sound and lighting exhibition in London's Olympia) that Darren had a opportunity to talk to David Brown (Now owner of Promo Only UK, (the industries largest supplier for music videos for performers) who was the sales manager for DMC (the organisers of the World DJ Championships and founders and publishers of MixMag), at the time. He applied for an internal sales manager role and started a few weeks later.

Darren quickly settled into the exciting working world of DMC where he soon became the chance receiver of a phone call from John Sanderson, (head of music at Notting Hill Music Publishing) who was looking for a skilled DJ to play at the legendary London Limelight Club. That one night slot lead to several years as a twice weekly resident DJ at the top London club. It was at this time that Darren meet his future wife, and now Office Manager, Iva Latimer.

During this time the Innovents business had steadily grown and become synonymous in the field of Corporate Events, Parties and wedding functions. The Innovents brand was fast becoming an established and trusted name.

Working with companies including Big Brother maker Endemol, Virgin Management, Hong Kong Investment Bank, Waitrose, Vodafone, Microsoft to name a few, Innovents established credibility in the marketplace. We have even supplied entertainment in as far away places as the Middle East including a large wedding attended by the King Of Jordon.

 

Darren's wife Iva took on the role of office manager, with her exceptional management skills, she was the perfect candidate to manage the busy office. And Iva receives many compliments on here efficiency and speed at dealing with any questions or queries from our customers or clients.

As the business has grown, so has our workforce. We have an amazing small dedicated team who pride themselves on delivering the highest level of customer service.

 

Claudia helps Iva with the phone calls, and Stan is operations manager, looking after logistics and transportation at the warehouse. 

The team of Innovents DJs, Bands, and Entertainers have all been carefully hand picked by us, as we believe they are incredible at what they do, and have a real passion to provide an outstanding customer experience...

The whole team at Innovents really love what we do, and that really shows with the level of customer service that we put into every event. We use state of the art equipment, and with years of event experience, you really are in safe hands. 

 

We are certainly not a large company, so retain that personal touch, but are much bigger than a one man band, so you always have the back up of a team of experienced people to help you.

At Innovents we strongly believe in investing in people, that is why we continue to develop and improve what we do and how we do it, so that we can continue to innovate, and deliver the best service to our clients. Some of the training we have successfully undertaken includes training workshops and seminars, proudly completing a Marbecca Method - Master of Ceremonies Workshop, with Mark and Rebecca Ferrell. 

We have also undertaken many wedding performance workshops with Author and Coach Derek Pengelly, Seda 'Buzz Workshops,' NADJ Training seasons, and Business and Development training with former International Management Consultant and Personal Development Psychologist / Sound and Lighting Consultant David Reed.

We are also looking forward to further development this year with a fun training course with some of our respected DJs within the industry to further development and polish our performance skills, and also attending the UK Wedding Conference in November.
