About DJ and Business Entrepreneur Darren Latimer

Darren latimer has a story to tell, from humble beginnings to living in the fast lane...
Darren has collected music since he was 13, and started DJing as a Mobile DJ since November 1997. The early days saw Darren playing music in Pubs and Functions throughout Surrey and Berkshire before landing a twice weekly residency at the Famous 'London Limelight' in the late 90s and early 00s.
Darren also used to host the Friday night slot at 'Sophisticates' Westminsters 1st Lap dancing club as seem on the Sky TVs 'Naked in Westminster.
At the same time the event side of the business steadily grew to becoming a well established supplier of parties, weddings and corporate events.
Over the years Innovents have provided events for many big corporate customers including BBC, Virgin, John Lewis, Endemol, HSBC, and have even supplied entertainment in as far away places as the Middle East including a large wedding attended by the King Of Jordon.
For several years now Darren has focused his efforts as a Wedding Entertainment Specialist and loves to work with fun loving couples to help turn their vision into reality.
Darren is constantly learning and staying at the cutting edge of his field, undertaking numerous training workshops, attending seminars including successfully completing a Marbecca Method - Master of Ceremonies Workshop, with Mark and Rebecca Ferrell from the United States Of America.
In 2015 Innovents was honoured to have been awarded the Most Popular Wedding DJs in Berkshire by the Wedding Industry Experts 2015 Awards.
And in 2016, 2017 and 2019 Innovents were proud finalists in the Guides for Brides Customer Service Wedding Awards.
In 2018 Darren won Best UK Dj in the Guides for Brides Customer Service Awards.
A big part of the Innovents business is providing our Famous Special Wedding Entertainment Package where we help fun loving couples with their entertainment from the start of the ceremony, all the way until the end of the night.
In his early career Darren working for a few well known companies including ADP and Toshiba, before gaining a job at DMC.
When i worked for DMC, the people who started and owned MIXMAG, the clubbers bible of tunage and clubbing calendar for all of those glory years of 90s clublife.
Paul Dakeyne (Stringman), Chad Jackson (Hear the Drummer Get Wicked), World DJ Champion Cutmaster Swift and Brothers in Rhythm were producing funky sounds in the studios downstairs.
I remember one morning answering the phone , "Hi Darren, Its Kylie here, could i speak to Steve Anderson please", i should have said "You should be so lucky 🤪".
Brothers in Rhythm made and remixed many good songs back in the early days, including this classic.
Early Career
Brothers in Rhythm was DJ Steve Anderson, DJ Dave Seaman, and Alan Bremner.
They did lots of remixes and engineering work for Kylie, Michael Jackson, Pet Shop Boys, M People and so many more.
Darren would get to spend time around and chatting with many famous music people including DJ Dave Seaman (Cream and Renaissance Resident), Dan Prince from MIXMAG and Sundesential, Martin Madagen from House of Windsor and Full Monty and John Saunders from Camden, Hippodrome and Eros.
Ibiza & Clockwork Orange
Darren likes to keep up do date with the latest vibes, while also enjoying the ever growing revival of the Old Skool atmosphere. This includes regular visits to Ibiza where he has a growing number of friends that live on the island.
Darren also has been hands on with the Clockwork Orange parties since their massive revival success with events from 338, Fire, Ministry, Koko, 02, We Are FSTVL, and Nassau Beach Party, Benimussa Park, Es Paradis and Cafe Mambos in Ibiza.
Darren continues his quest for loving life and getting a buzz from seeing a busy dance floor with people having a great time.
